don, i recently downloaded all of your shows on itunes. i wanted to convey something to someone i think would understand and right now i think that person is you

for the most part, i think that the biggest opposition to the truth is the worldview that claims it is supported by observable truth (science) instead of a faith based theology. this world view is evolution, or naturalism

i have been thinking about it alot, and heres what i came up with its only a few paragraphs, and if u like it u can do whatever you want with it. i think looking at atheism vrs theism would be much easier this way. im not entirely done yet, so feel free to finish the thoughts below.

According to the scientific method, something must first be observed, then studied. The evolution of one species into another was never observed. If it were, it would not still be called the 'theory' of evolution. Instead of taking an observation as the logical reason to ask why it happens, then how it happens, scientists take the idea of evolution and then go about trying to understand how it happens. This is an instance of faith. If there was no first observation that it happens, for what scientific reason would you trust that it does and try to find it's evidence? Atheism is essentially the faith behind this belief in an absence of an intelligent designer, and evolution is it's apologetics. It's More like a religion than anything else. You'll find this religious and unscientific faith throughout the entire theory. The big bang was never observed, and the random and unguided formation of the first living cell was never observed. Evolution amounts to faith based theories for something that is nearly statistically impossible. How can you say evolution is scientific?

The argument science has against theism is that it is not scientific. That it can't be observed and tested like evolution. It implies that any belief that is not scientific should not and cannot be accepted as truth until it can be proven by the scientific method, which would then eliminate the opposing evolution argument and be accepted as truth. This is assuming that evolution is scientific, and unlike religion, meaning it totally lacks faith and trust in an unscientific world view, and is based on observable facts, unlike faith based religions. If this were not true, that evolution is scientific and not guilty of the unscientific crimes that it claims theism to be guilty of, if would be no more legitimate than Christianity, Mormonism, or Judaism, by it's own standards of legitimacy.

An argument for evolution is that matter has always existed. Well, it's an assumption. They say to the religious and the intelligent design scientists, that they must scientifically prove there is a god, or else there is no reason too. That, coupled with their theory of evolution. Well, the truth is that even if science cannot prove there is is a god, it also cannot prove there is not a god.
Step one of the scientific method, ask a question based on an observation. And, in order for the scientific method to answer the question it must be about something that you can measure, preferably with a number. . Existence was observed, and then comes the hypothesis. The hypothesis is that all life on earth came from a single celled organism, several billion years ago. The unique thing is that based off of the same observation, a totally different hypothesis can be made. There could be an intelligent designer. I think the difference between how existence is perceived in this first observation depends largely on what the person's world view is. If the person believes there is no god and is an atheist, they will hypothesize that life must have slowly evolved. If they believe in a god of any sort, they will hypothesize that he put living things here. The point is that either scientific view is biased by the world-view. If the world view is theistic, whether or not its true can only be answered through the philosophical study of objective truth and the varying theisms and human nature. The truest scientific observations would be from an agnostic point of view. If this were the case, one would assume neither theism or atheism, but observe both possibilities until substantial evidence arose.
But looking at it from an agnostic point of view, which is more likely? Since we are still only halfway through the first step, we need to make an educated guess about our observation. Evolution is nearly statistically impossible. Over a couple hundred proteins must be in the same microscopic spot versus being scattered throughout the globe, and they must also be in the right order, and they must some how have come to life. According to theism, an all powerful being simply created something. Neither is proven, but which is more likely?
Looking at things this way, getting rid of all theistic or atheistic faith in a world view, the observation is now untainted, and we can proceed to find a truly unbiased answer. This is an agnostic perspective. This perspective, which trusts in the scientifically unproved beliefs that there is or is not a god, is the only way to come up with a unbiased and scientific answer the question of gods existance. There is this intelligent design movement...i don't know if they have enough evidence to prove that we were designed, but it is much more likley. As an agnostic spectator, wouldnt I want to put my trust in the worldview that is most the likely? Since theism is much more simple and much more possible, it is beeter to accept the rules of logic and objective truth and go about finding which theistic view of god is true.
